Day 2 | Tui - Porrino | 19 km / 11.8 mi

From Tui, the initial leg covers a distance of 19 kilometres. This initial stretch is mainly concerned with navigating out of Tui’s urban sprawl, yet it gracefully meanders through wooded terrains near the gentle flow of the Louro River.

Along this first segment, there is more to see beyond the recommended Tui International Bridge. Notable landmarks include the formidable Valença do Minho fortification. This stage concludes in the town of O Porriño, a locale that boasts an extensive and rich cultural heritage. Relax at the end of the day in the thermal Roman baths of Balneario de Mondariz.

Day 3 | Porrino - Redondela | 18 km / 11.1 mi

This stage maintains the ease of the first day, with no challenging inclines. Throughout 18 kilometres, the path offers a tapestry of beautiful vistas and numerous points of interest.

This portion of the journey culminates in the town of Redondela. Seizing the afternoon post-arrival to explore the San Simón cove is recommended. While the cove's presence graces the entire route, the pilgrim's path doesn’t afford the comprehensive view this stunning natural haven deserves.

Day 4 & 5 | Redondela - Pontevedra | 21 km / 13 mi

Covering 21 kilometres from Redondela to Pontevedra, this stretch combines city walking with serene estuary views. Notable detours include the Church of Santiago and Soutomaior Castle, offering a dose of history. In Pontevedra, a city of rich culture and cuisine, don't miss the Church of the Virgin Pilgrim. For a gastronomic treat, consider a trip to Ons Island (optional) for an exceptional octopus lunch. This addition will enrich your Camino Portuguese experience with natural beauty and local flavours.

Two nights in Pontevedra staying at Parador de Pontevedra or VILLA 1880 Boutique.

Day 6 | Pontevedra - Caldas de Reis | 21 km / 13 mi

Traversing through quaint rural villages and picturesque towns, this 21-kilometre stage leads to the stunning Caldas de Reis. En route, a short 400-meter detour, which is well-marked, takes you to the cascading waterfalls of the Ria Baroa Natural Park—an enchanting interlude well worth the visit.

As the stage concludes, you're greeted by the renowned hot springs of Caldas de Reis, a soothing reward for the day's journey. This town is not just about its thermal waters; it's a treasure trove of historical and cultural sites, including ancient churches, bridges, and lush gardens.

Night in Caldes de Reis Staying at Torre Do Rio or Novavila Design Wine Hotel

Day 7 | Caldas de Reis - Padron | 18.5 km / 11.5 mi

Stretches of lush woods and idyllic villages mark the next section of the Camino Portugues from Tui. Spanning 18.5 kilometres from Caldas de Reis to Padrón, the stunning scenery rewards the journey's moderate demands.

Concluding in Padrón, this stage offers a range of delights in one of the most iconic stops on the Camino from Tui. Here, the cultural and historical wonders are as enriching as the walk itself.

The final leg of the Camino de Santiago from Tui is the most ambitious, stretching 24 kilometres to Santiago, where the Apostle James lies entombed. Along the way, a visit to the Sanctuary of Slavery and its sacred fountain is highly recommended.

As this final stage unfolds, the panorama of Compostela and the soaring Cathedral of Santiago come into view, energizing pilgrims for the remaining distance. This last section, while longer, is filled with anticipation and a sense of accomplishment.

To celebrate the culmination of your journey, a themed group dinner awaits on the final night, offering a chance to share stories and savour the completion of this memorable pilgrimage.
