Terms, Conditions and Cancellation Policy

The owner of this website, CAMINO COMPANIONS, is responsible for the information set forth herein.

Customer Obligations:

In this document, the word ‘Customer ́́' refers to any person who contracts a service from CAMINO COMPANIONS.

Once the Customer has completed and submitted the registration form to CAMINO COMPANIONS, only the Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the data provided during the registration. CAMINO COMPANIONS is not responsible for any consequences arising from the introduction of false or incorrect data by the Customer.

After the Customer has filled out the online registration and booking form for the tour they wish to join, paying a deposit or the full amount is the only way to confirm and hold their spot officially.

Deposit amounts are:

  • Website tour: €1750 deposit per person

  • Private tour where one single organiser or entity (travel agency, company or organisation) handles reservations, sign-ups, payments or information on behalf of the group: 10% of the total quoted price for the estimated number of people in the group at the time of booking.

A pro forma invoice will be sent to the Customer approximately 75 days before the start of the tour as the full confirmation of your travel booking, but it can be requested at any time before this date. The remaining balance can be paid at any time up until 60 days before the start of the tour. The Customer’s registration on the tour will be officially confirmed once the total amount of this pro forma invoice is fully paid.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are unfortunate and may happen. In those cases, we always do everything possible to work with you and figure the situation out with you.

Any cancellation of a tour that has already been reserved must be communicated in writing by the party who has cancelled and will be subject to the following conditions you must be aware of, understand and accept:

Cancellation for tours posted on the Website

In case of cancellation by the Customer, the cancellation fees to CAMINO COMPANIONS are listed below:

  • Cancellation made more than 90 days before starting the tour: 1250€

  • Cancellation made 90 to 60 days before the start of the tour: 1750€

  • Cancellation made 59 to 31 days before the commencement of the tour: 2450€

  • Cancellation made 30 days or less before the start of the tour: 100% of the tour price. No amount is refundable.

Itinerary Changes, Flexibility & Extra Fees

Part of our value proposition is personalised service. We offer plenty of flexibility to cater to your needs and preferences.

We are open and flexible to your needs and changes within limits. Please keep in mind the modifications may affect the price we initially quoted:

  • After all bookings have been made, more than one date change will incur a fee.

  • The number of rooms/people may vary by 25% after this notification with no extra fees. (For example, if the group is of 10 people and 2 people cancel, there will be no fee.) Additional rooms will be subject to availability at no cost.

Any other modifications that require changing confirmed bookings may be subject to price changes in the Customer’s original quote.

  • In case of cancellation by the Client occurs due to force majeure, CAMINO COMPANIONS will charge the expenses incurred due to this cancellation. This amount is subject to negotiation if the client postpones your tour.

  • A Customer’s absence from the tour without prior written cancellation notice incurs the loss of the total amount paid plus what is owed, if any amount is owed.

Terms and Conditions

  • The Customer is responsible for managing the documentation required for the journey, such as passports, visas, airport taxes, consular procedures, and, in general, any legal requirement issued through consulates, embassies, and public or private entities. CAMINO COMPANIONS does not arrange air tickets and, therefore, is not responsible for any possible issues derived from their acquisition, such as changes in flight schedules, flight cancellations, airport or transport strikes, etc.

  • The Customer understands and agrees that he/she is participating in an outdoor activity that includes walking in variable terrain and weather conditions in rural or remote areas. The customer accepts all the inherent risks that this kind of activity implies and states that he/she is medically, physically, and emotionally fit to participate.

  • The Customer understands and agrees to release CAMINO COMPANIONS, its directors, employees, representatives, collaborators, and independent contractors (all denominated ‘Agents’) from and against all claims, actions, causes of action, costs, expenses and demands of any nature regarding death, injury, loss or damage to the Customer or their belongings wherever and however caused arising from, or in connection with, their taking part in the activity provided by CAMINO COMPANIONS or while travelling to and from the activity notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or caused by any act including, without limitation, negligence of CAMINO COMPANIONS and/or any one or more of it’s ‘Agents’.

  • The customer understands and agrees that any transfer fees applied by third parties during a refund process will be deducted from the total amount.

  • The Customer understands and agrees that CAMINO COMPANIONS reserves the right to deny participation in the tour to any person at any time if, in the judgment of the tour leader/guide, said person’s behaviour is causing a disturbance or hazard to themselves, any other participants, or to CAMINO COMPANIONS.

  • The Customer understands and agrees that during the tour, he/she may be photographed or filmed and agrees to allow CAMINO COMPANIONS to use said audiovisual material for any legitimate purpose or post it online on social media platforms and our webpage.

  • This contract shall be governed by Spanish law, and all matters arising from it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Spanish Courts.

Obligations of CAMINO COMPANIONS:

  • Once the Customer has blocked a tour spot, CAMINO COMPANIONS will send an e-mail stating the specifications for the requested tour.

  • In the event that CAMINO COMPANIONS is obliged to cancel any of its programs for reasons not attributable to the Customer, the company will refund the full amount paid by the Customer until that moment.

  • Once the tour begins, the Customer may withdraw from the tour at any time, forfeiting any payments made to CAMINO COMPANIONS. No refunds will be owed.

  • CAMINO COMPANIONS reserves the right to change, modify or cancel a tour before its departure due to a lack of participants. The Customer will be informed of any issues at least 100 days before the start of the tour. Any modifications or cancellations do not generate any penalisation or compensation fees from the Company to the Customer.

  • CAMINO COMPANIONS has no obligation to indemnify or refund payments to its Customers on the following assumptions:

  • When the reasons for failure in the execution of the contract are attributable to the Customer.

  • When the impossibility of compliance with the conditions agreed on, the tour is attributable to a third party and is unpredictable and insurmountable.

  • When the trip is cancelled due to force majeure.

Force Majeure means conditions beyond those who invoke them, unusual and unforeseeable consequences that would have been unavoidable despite having acted with due diligence - like natural disasters.
