DAY 1 – Logroño

The heart of La Rioja

Logroño, capital of La Rioja and home to some of the best wines in the world. An old town steeped in history, the character of having been the first commercial city in Spain and its streets full of significant sites and first class gastronomy make it the best possible starting point for our trip.

DAY 2 – Burgos

Medieval splendour

Burgos, a symbol of medieval architecture and former capital of the kingdom of Castile and León. Its Gothic cathedral, declared a World Heritage Site, the Monastery of Santa María la Real, its imposing 9th century castle and the monument to the Cid Campeador are clear examples of the greatness of the city’s heritage.

DAY 3 – León

The Templar Order

León, a former Roman camp, has among its many monuments the “Sistine Chapel” of Spanish Romanesque architecture: one of the most extensive and best-preserved collections of mural paintings in Europe, with more than 1000 years of history.

DAY 4 – Ponferrada

The Templar Order

Ponferrada, the home of the first Knights Templar and a transit point for pilgrims from all over Europe on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The Templar Castle and the ancient wall hide inside them the great deeds of kings, knights, nobles and peasants in what is today the geographical centre of the territory of El Bierzo.

DAY 5 – Monforte

Feudal City

Monforte, capital of the Ribeira Sacra and railway junction of the industrial development of the Iberian Peninsula. The monumental complex of San Vicente de O Pino with the imposing Torre del Homenaje, the Colegio de Nuestra Señora, known as the Galician El Escorial, or the old Jewish quarter in the old town are some of the reasons why it was named the most beautiful town in Spain in 2015.

DAY 6 – Ribeira Sacra

Heroic viticulture

Ribeira Sacra, treasures in stone and millenary terraces define a place touched by the sky. This territory is home to the largest concentration of medieval churches and monasteries in Europe, while at the same time it offers us a heroic landscape of sloping hillsides full of vineyards that test the vertigo of those who move among its vines.

DAY 7 – Santiago de Compostela

World Heritage

Santiago, the city that has it all. The historic centre, the Cathedral, ancient squares, convents, churches and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque blend with contemporary architecture, parks, gardens and exceptional gastronomy in a unique setting. A city that embraces those who complete the Camino and attracts the attention of the whole world.
